Uranus and Pluto meddling again! Your Zodiac Signs and Neptune

I was speaking to my dear friend and colleague Prudence Jones, this morning and she mentioned that when Uranus went over the 4th House (IC) of the UK chart, the bottom fell out of the housing market.

In natal astrology the IC is associated with the family we spring from; the place where we belong and feel familiar. In political astrology it shows the land, housing developments, farming and mining. Here in the UK the aim of every young couple is to get on the “Housing Ladder” in order to move up the ladder by buying bigger and better homes over the years for themselves and their family. This comes from the idea that owning one’s own home is the most important goal of any sane human being. “An Englishman’s home is his castle” goes the mantra. This means that most people in the UK see living in rented accommodation as some kind of failure, even if the greatest portion of their earnings goes on their mortgage payments, leaving little to have fun with. No wonder they’re stressed out!

When Uranus crossed the IC in 1990/91 the bottom fell out of the UK housing market – many bargains were to be made as many people had bought their properties in the 1980s with mortgages that created negative equity for them; thus rendering them effectively bankrupt as they couldn’t sell their properties and realise a profit from them.

Transit Uranus is now making a challenging square to that position and at present our news is full of “housing issues” i.e. too expensive, not enough houses, homelessness, etc. This will run and run as Transit Pluto is now in on the act.

Transit Pluto is now on the same point (UK IC)- and it’s important to say that Pluto has not had one full cycle across the UK chart as the UK is only 213 years old and Pluto’s orbit is 245 years, so we can’t go back historically to see what happened last time he made the same transit. However, my take on this transit relates to fracking, the HS2 government land grabs or compulsory purchasing, and maybe drilling for oil underneath you and me! This is the planet of power meeting the ground we all stand on in the UK and we can only watch and wonder as it all unfolds.

In a couple of years’ time there will be a square between Saturn and Neptune from Sagittarius and Pisces, and this is when, I think, we will see the real results of fracking and its effect on the earth’s substructures. Saturn is soil and Neptune is gas – se we can wait and see how that pans out as well. I may suggest that water pipes – contained Saturn water Neptune – will be challenged by the square aspect and a leak that causes poisoning of the water table could be a possible result.

So now for something completely different just to lighten the tone somewhat:

Neptune (NE) is retrograde for about 5 months every year, so nothing earth shattering there then. It is when the zodiacal degree of his station is reached (end April last) and he gradually slows down to stand still that our perceptions can subtly shift. NE ground to a halt on the 9th June and is now going slowly go backwards but remaining on the same degree until the end of July.

NE represents all that is mystical, magical, expansive and spiritual on the one hand, and on the other it can also bring confusion and lack of focus. it can represent a yearning for life to be “better” to be more meaningful, more filled with beauty, and even, Divine Homesickness – desiring to be at one with God.

It will go between 7 degrees of Pisces back to 4 degrees before turning direct mid-November. the birthdays that will be affected will all be at the beginning of the signs. So, the end of each month.

Your Zodiac Signs  – Sun, Moon or Ascendant  – Neptune’s Station

NB – The readings below can either be read from your Sun Sign – ie your birthday – or your Ascendant sign, which is calculated form your time of birth. Try also reading it from your Moon Sign, as Hindu astrologers suggest. You may even read them all together for an even broader, more interwoven, picture of your life.

Aries : 21st March – 20th April: Neptune is in your 12th House of mystical matters and this is his natural home. You may have started meditating or reading spiritual books over the past few weeks as you are looking for something to nourish your soul.  You may also find that a hidden desire to explore some faraway place like Tibet arises.

Taurus: 20th April – 20th May: Neptune is in your 11th House of friendships and aspirations. You may be finding that your friends are no longer giving you the kind of spiritual focus that you need right now. You are on a quest for some greater meaning in your life. Your taste changes to filling your life with more subtle colours and music.

Gemini: 21st May – 21st June:  Neptune is in your 10th House of public profile, career and ambition. You may be noticing that you are yearning for the rewards that a vocation can bring you rather than your present career options right now. This could be a time to start a new study course that will open your working life to include life’s  broader issues

Cancer: 21st June – 23rd July: Neptune is in your 9th House of long distance journeys, higher learning and beliefs. You may be thinking that a trip across the oceans to some place of untouched beauty and spiritual innocence. would fill your hunger for MORE in your life. Or you may decide on a course in Philosophy or Religion that might fit the bill.

Leo: 23rd July – 23rd August: Neptune is in your 8th House of shared resources and search for meaning. This could bring you face to face with your own “stuff” that gets in the way of real clarity in your life. So a course in meditation could be perfect for you right now. Partners may be wondering where this leaves them in your relationship – take them along.

Virgo: 23rd August – 23rd September: Neptune is in your 7th House of relationships, business partners and inner balance. This could create confusion about what you really want from those closest to you. You could be yearning for some ideal that  only exists in your imagination rather than actually existing on this earth. Wait for the transit to end.

Libra: 23rd September – 23rd October: Neptune is in your 6th House of work, routines and health.  You may be asking yourself how you can serve the Universe in your work and  what form to put it in. Your health could really get a lift from a good swim in some warm seas – home or abroad. You may try some new spiritual rituals that lift your spirits.

Scorpio: 23rd October – 22nd November: Neptune is in your 5th House of creativity, children and love affairs. This could be the most fun time of your life right now. You’re on a creative high and are full of good ideas for painting, writing, or just being. Your children may also be filled with new ideas for their own lives – or you may fall in love. What fun!

Sagittarius: 22nd November – 22nd December: Neptune is in your 4th House of home, domestic matters and family. You may have drainage problems in your home – Neptune can bring floods. Better to buy an aquarium or build a pond. The colour schemes in your home could be all wrong for your mood right now – time to get painting.

Capricorn: 22nd December -20th January: Neptune is in your 3rd House of siblings, writing and teaching. You may decide to take a creative writing course over the summer months that will open up a level of expression that is new for you. Or you may decide to take a short trip with a sibling that nourishes you both spiritually.

Aquarius: 20th January – 19th February: Neptune is in your 2nd House of personal values and comfort zone. You could take a look at your personal values and how you show them to the world and conclude that they don’t reflect who you are becoming right now. Every part of your life is coming under scrutiny as you are looking for meaning and depth now.

Pisces: 19th February – 20th March: Neptune is in your 1st House of your desires and your drives. This is all about YOU – what you want and how you want to live your life. You can allow yourself to express your mystical, musical, poetic side to others. If they don’t like it – tough! Time to be who you really are -which may take you on quite a journey to find out.
