Venus in Pisces with Mars, Neptune and Chiron

Venus will be in Pisces from today – 27th January – for three weeks. She joins, in order, Neptune, Mars and Chiron before she goes into Aries. A fast little planet whipping her way through gentle, idealistic Pisces. Traditionally this is her finest sign placement – she is said to be “Exalted” here. The myths tell us that she arose from the sea at our very beginnings, lost in the mists of time. She is placed 2nd from the Sun, between us and Mercury.

The event that marked her entrance in Pisces this time – because she does it annually – was the consecration of the first female Bishop in the Church of England the day before in York Minster, Yorkshire. It is for another article to explore the fact that I have noticed events closely preceding their planetary significators – as they have here.

Pisces is the sign most associated with Christianity because there was an important conjunction, ie together in the same place of the Zodiac, of Jupiter and Saturn in Pisces in 4BC. The conjunction of these two heavy giants have traditionally been THE game changers of kingship and historical political upturns; and were often associated with the death, and birth, of kings. No wonder King Herod tried to kill all the firstborn boys after the Three Kings (astrologers, by the way) told him that they had just seen a baby in Bethlehem who would become the new King of the Jews.

And certainly Jesus did exemplify all the values of Pisces: compassion, harmony, peace and Love, which were given even more weight by the fact that their Great World Great Age was moving from Aries into Pisces at around the same time, 2000 years ago; just as we have now moved into Aquarius – our New Age in 2000CE. The culture in Jesus’ time moved from the Age of the Ram to the Age of the Fish. Jesus took the symbol of the fish as his own marker. Everyone alive at that time would have known about this Age change and would have been waiting and watching for a new leader to come along.

The values of Pisces are high on our agenda right now and Neptune, ruling planet, being placed there now – for another eleven years – will be the counter balance to all the violence coming from the Uranus/Pluto square. Whether or not there is enough commitment for peace at this point is a good question. However, our imperative is to express those Piscean values of compassion, harmony, peace and Love out into the world as individuals and hope that we can bring a sea-change in the attitudes of those in power right now.

There should also be a New Moon in Pisces on the 18th February but it falls at the final gasp of Aquarius at 29 degrees 59 minutes instead. It will be the 2nd New Moon in Aquarius – a Blue Moon, no less, which is a construct rather than an astrological fact. In other words, its only meaning is that Aquarius had two New Moons, and nothing more than that. In my opinion, anyway.

So back to the present, Venus will conjoin, i.e. meet up with, Neptune on 1st February, then Chiron on 9th February. the conjunction with Mars on 20 February is in Aries, as Mars leaves Pisces just before she gets to him.

Venus’ first conjunction is with Neptune. So we can expect an intensifying of all those values I have already mentioned above. There may be a peace rally or some such as it is happening over the weekend. Then she gets up to wise old Chiron – half horse/half horse – this could unite beauty and healing possibly, or healing through peace. Who knows? we’ll have to wait and see.

I haven’t mentioned Chiron in my articles yet and have been waiting for an opportunity to do so. The discovery of Chiron was on 18th October, 1977 by astronomer Charles Kowal and announced to the world the following month. We have now had nigh on 40 years to see how his influence expresses in our lives. Chiron is situated, more or less, between Saturn and Uranus. His orbit is an astronomical oddity. It is so wild that it sometimes he crosses the path of Saturn and Uranus – while never colliding with them. In mythology he was a Centaur, and is associated with teaching astrology, medicine, surgery, warfare and music to the young gods and heroes of the Greek pantheon of Gods.

He sacrificed himself so that Prometheus (Uranus) could live – one wonders what was actually happening in their orbits at the time. Did they nearly collide? Or did Uranus nearly collide with something else and Chiron got in the way? Who knows, but it’s worth saying that the myths have a great deal of astronomical truths locked within them. More on this another time.

Your Zodiac Signs – Sun, Moon or Ascendant – with Venus in Pisces

NB – The readings below can either be read from your Sun Sign – ie your birthday – or your Ascendant sign, which is calculated form your time of birth. Try also reading it from your Moon Sign, as Hindu astrologers suggest. You may even read them all together for an even broader picture of your life.

Aries : 21st March – 20th April: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 12th House of hidden matters, brings a real need to stop the action and look at what it is you are doing right now and the effect you are having on others. It’s a good time to take a rest, holiday, or go on a retreat, as it will get you out of your everyday routines, which you hate, anyway. Taking a course in QiGong could be good for you. This is a time of negotiation with others, particularly in your finances, both your own and your shared resources.

Taurus: 20th April – 20th May: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 11th House of friendships, groups, your objectives and your own map of the future, will bring friends who have new values that could challenge your ideas. You could resist but why not just take a look and see what could be useful for you in them? You could meet someone totally unexpected, a maverick, who sparks your interest and offer you a new and very different future to the one you had planned.

Gemini: 21st May – 21st June: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 10th House of career and public profile could bring you a crowded work load with lots happening that is hard to pin down. Someone new in the workplace could bring new ideas that challenge your whole work routines and bring a wake-up call to get yourself doing things very differently. You may have to go on a course, learn a new language, master a new skill to move along your chosen path and add to your skill set.

Cancer: 21st June – 23rd July: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 9th House brings you many new opportunities for language courses, training programs, or new philosophies about the meaning of your life. This will lift you out of some of the stuck energy that you’ve been feeling for the last couple of years and open your future up anew. You will want to change your profile in your world and so a new career step could ensue. As a result you may be altering your domestic situation to all for all of the foregoing.

Leo: 23rd July – 23rd August: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 8th House can bring a new attitude to both your shared and personal finances. You might find a completely relaxed attitude emerging about money in general and letting go of the focus you have been putting on it all. The ensuing sense of freedom you gain will make room for a new creative venture that will bring its own rewards – but concentrate on the venture not the money. You will be busy writing, speaking and getting out and about.

Virgo: 23rd August – 23rd September: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 7th House can bring changes in your intimate and business relationships. This is a stimulating time for you with new ideas, people and training programs to explore that take you out of the rut that you do seem to love so much. A partner may be going through similar things and making their own decisions about their future regardless of what you do. A sibling or cousin may demand support that you are willing to give.

Libra: 23rd September – 23rd October: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 6th House focuses you on the impact your work has on your body and how much you are prepared to put your health first. Choices will have to be made for you to find true balance in your life because right now you are running around for others in order to keep them in your life. By all means do things for them but just be sure you they love you enough first. Not easy thing for a Libran. Maintain personal control over your finances.

Scorpio: 23rd October – 22nd November: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 5th House brings many opportunities to take the creative leap in your work that you have long been dreaming of. Your relationships and closest friends will be with you all the way. Your children may be taking long journeys or starting a new business plan. You could be involved in some training program that can open new doors of opportunity for you and impact your future. This is a stimulating time for you.

Sagittarius: 22nd November – 22nd December: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 4th House creates a confusion in your home that you feel compelled to sort out. How can you meditate in a mess? Friendships are important right now although one may need your support through some emotional difficulty right now. You are on a creative high and just need the peace and quiet from other people’s needs to enable you to develop your ideas further. Love could be in the air.

Capricorn: 22nd December -20th January: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 3rd House brings many short trips and changes to your neighbourhood. A sibling could be going through a crisis and needs your input of cool-headed common sense to bring them through it. Work could also be tiring as you have plenty new ideas on how to improve things, yet the willingness to act upon them isn’t there yet. You may meet an interesting person on your journey into work who could offer life changes.

Aquarius: 20th January – 19th February: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 2nd House can bring concerns over your personal finances. The problem is that many of your long-held values are going through a shift in your mind – what used to be important may no longer be so. This can be a challenge for a fixed headed Aquarian. Flexibility is the key. Arguments at work and you need to ensure that you don’t bring them home with you. Children may challenge your authority yet offer a new angle to everyday beliefs.

Pisces: 19th February – 20th March: This multiple visit by Venus, Neptune, Mars and Chiron in your 1st House – well this is all about you! Your love, your health, spirituality and oomph (a good word for Mars) are all being stirred up which can only be a good thing. After all, the planets are not out to upset us – it’s just our attitudes to it all that does. So let go of the anxiety and let some good old fashioned fun into your life. Get out and about and meet people, especially mavericks who are very stimulating to have around.
