So many things to write about this week – the birth of a new Prince – we have no name at the point of writing this. He is 3rd in line to the throne of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, and the various commonwealth countries.

Then on 29th July, we have a very rare constellation in our skies – a David Star – so called because it is created from 2 separate Grand Trines, with all six points making 60 degree aspects to each other.

And a little more on the relationship between Uranus and Pluto.

The Birth of the Prince of Cambridge 

Finally, after keeping us all waiting for over a week, the baby Prince was born on 22nd July, 2013 at 16h24 British Summer Time in London. He is 3rd in line to the throne of the United Kingdom and her various commonwealth countries.

So – a prestigious birth.

At the moment of his birth, late Scorpio was rising, the Sun was right at the last minutes of Cancer. In fact, it didn’t enter Leo for another half hour later. His Moon was Full at the end of Capricorn. This links him solidly with both his parents – his father was born on a Solar Eclipse in Cancer and his mother on a Lunar Eclipse across Capricorn/Cancer.

His Full Moon squares Saturn, the planet of duty and good old-fashioned values, as does his mother’s own Full Moon. Kate’s own parents each have hard aspects from Saturn Moon (her father) and T-Square with Sun and Moon (Mother). This indicates a family karma being passed from them all through to the baby Prince, so it’s an old story or myth, that will be lived out through them all.

The elements on the Prince’s chart are in Earth and Water – good common sense and powerful emotions, with nothing in Air signs and only Uranus in Fire. Not an energy mix that sets the world alight, but good natured enough. This could be the perfect combination for a King, one who can do his duty and put himself to one side.

Prince Charles, his other grandfather, has the Sun in late degrees of Scorpio, another family link from the other side. However, it is the duty aspect of the new Prince’s life which chimes with his great grandmother’s chart. Queen Elizabeth II has her Saturn at 24 degrees of Scorpio right on her midheaven (her special vocation) which is placed on the baby’s rising sign.

Within the first 18 – 24 months of the young Prince’s life, Saturn will cross his Ascendant by transit (i.e. in real time) and could bring a new sibling. Saturn rules his 3rd House of siblings – thus ensuring that the nation will have an heir and a spare! It may also point to some family losses as well.

So, this wee one (as we say in Scotland) has an intense and sensitive nature, easily bruised emotionally, and quite possessive of those closest to him. His mother is a very important person in his life – Sun in Cancer loves his Mummy! He has 4 planets (including the Sun) in Cancer in the 8th House of power. He will have to deal with power struggles throughout his life, also shown by his Full Moon – his symbolic parents pulling against each other for his energies.

Equally, one might suggest that as the 8th House is the house of other people’s resources, he may go into banking as his career and/or marry someone wealthy. And well he might, with his Venus in Virgo, as his personal finances and those of his country will be somewhat smaller. I have often seen Venus in Virgo on the charts of graphic designers – that certainty of the fine line.

It is interesting that the position of the Queen’s Saturn falls in the 2nd House of wealth on the UK chart and the UK has never had great wealth since she became Queen. In fact, this is true of the young Prince’s Saturn, too. I think with his Ascendant also in the UK 2nd House, he may take it upon himself to channel his inherited wealth into the national coffers and thus restore the UK’s bounties. And who knows – there may not be a Royal Family for him to inherit – the government of the time may take it from him if we become a Republic. Now wouldn’t that be interesting?

And he’s a baby and he’s lovely, of course – what’s not to love?

The Star of David or Grand Sextile Chart of 29th July, 2013

I’ve had a number of enquiries about this one – so here goes! This is an interesting set-up: there are two Grand Trines in the sky that day. One has already been ongoing for a few weeks i.e. between Jupiter/Saturn and Neptune; the second is more fluid as it is between Venus, Pluto and the fast moving Moon (which is only there for a few hours), so blink and you’ll miss it!

However, it will still happen even if just briefly.

I think it could be a hard omen for more conflict, as if there isn’t enough already! All the planets involved in “The Star” are engaged with each other by sextiles (60 degree aspects). However, the Sun is square the Moon and Saturn making a separate T-Square, which is hard and suggests problems.

Jupiter, the bountiful one is opposite Pluto and I am told by Prudence Jones, my astrologer friend, that this is a difficult aspect for world money, as it is associated with bankruptcy. Pluto could pull the money down into his cave and hang on to it – no wonder the Romans called him “The Rich One”. Mars is at his weakest in Cancer opposite Pluto also in square aspect to Uranus, of sudden uprisings. Not a good indication for world peace. Countries that have no desire for war may find themselves being pulled into other people’s strife and unable to extricate themselves.

Venus, associated with balance, harmony and peace, is also in her fall – in Virgo – not good for money either. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, thank heavens! However she is conjunct the South Node of the Moon, which brings things from the past that we’ve tried to forget that have to be dealt with NOW!!! She is also opposite judgemental Saturn, who likes to control her whenever he can, as her changeability infuriates him. The ongoing argument between the patriarchy and the matriarchy writ large here, I think. Let’s see if the place of women changes for the better in societies where this rages the most strongly, or just becomes more entrenched in the old attitudes. My money’s on the latter, to be honest. Saturn is the rock and the Moon is women – put that together and what do you get – women sculptors? Hmm…..

Uranus and Pluto again 

Going back to Pluto in Capricorn in history – this placement was the marker for the Reformation, when the Church was split in two and Protestantism was born, rejecting the Roman Catholic Church for ever. It was also present at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution from 1760 onwards. Both these events changed society for ever, too. So in years to come, this time in our present will be seen as a period of historic change, with few things returning to any kind of familiar normality. We feel it already and react as we always have, by violence and fear. It may be time to “Let go and Let God”, to chop wood and carry water; or just simply keep our heads down.

To show you the difference between the actions of Uranus and Pluto who were in conjunction in the 1960s and now in square. Look at the Cultural Revolution in China in the 60s – Uranus was the Revolution that was pulled into the dark lair of Pluto and became a strict political system that beat all revolution and idealism out of the people for quite some decades.

Martin Luther King was changing his world big time through that decade and was murdered for his pains, as were both the Kennedy brothers.

So, we need to be vigilant, don’t we?

In 1848 we also had a Uranus Pluto conjunction (in Aries) which saw the “Spring of Nations” uprising through most of Europe and in parts of Latin America, with few or no links between any of the countries. Sound familiar? It may have been a reaction to the potato famine of that year; or to a sense of loss of place in life due to the ongoing industrial changes throughout the earlier period. And it may have been both and more of those things which seemed to catch fire for the whole year, and was then put out by the powers that be (Pluto).

On the face of it things went back to “normal” but the ideas that had been born in the minds of millions across the globe then, still show up in the social attitudes we hold dear today.
