Jupiter in Gemini – June 2012 to June 2013

Jupiter has entered Gemini where he will reside for the following 12 months. This is good news for all the mutable signs – namely Gemini/Sagittarius and Virgo/Pisces and also the other air signs Libra and Aquarius, and Aries and Leo – because Jupiter brings good fortune, expansion and optimism into our lives – and right now, I think that will do us all a power of good.

It will be a slow journey along early to mid-Gemini as Jupiter changes retrograde at 16 Gemini in early October to go back to 6 Gemini January/February 2013. This means that those of us who have the Sun after what would effectively be the 7th of the months in all the above signs, (i.e. June, September, and so on) will have to wait until April 2013 when Jupiter will then leap through the end of Gemini to get into his favourite sign Cancer at the end of next June. It hardly seems fair, however, the recent transits of Jupiter have really only taken up half each sign. In fact, Jupiter will not sweep through a whole sign in one year until 2021, so many of us will miss out on the strongest Jupiter moments. We have to accept it as the soul choice we made when came into this lifetime for our soul experiences this time round.

I have long thought that Jupiter is the planet of Attraction along with Venus, of course. However, they attract on different levels – Venus on relationships, art and personal values; and Jupiter on more spiritual thoughts, long distance journeys, out-of-the-box thinking, expansion and optimism. Now I know that in these times of great distress for many of us, it is hard to be optimistic and expansive – however, there will be certain areas in your life where a feeling of optimism may occur within you. I don’t think that either Venus or Jupiter really create events per se; I do think, though, that they can give a feeling of positive energy that will then make your vibrations very attractive indeed. Then events can happen because you feel good about yourself, despite all the doom and gloom around you.

When Jupiter entered Gemini last week I was so bombarded by the needs of other people around me that I couldn’t find the time to write my blog – and I’m sure that many of you who are writers, will appreciate that any writing project requires a certain peace and quiet for thinking time. And that I didn’t have.

Jupiter in Gemini – this means that all forms of communication, teaching, writing, short journeys, talking, siblings, mass media, are being expanded, due to Jupiter’s action. Jupiter rules Sagittarius and Pisces (along with Neptune) which are the two signs that are opposite and square Gemini. So, too much of a good thing could be the order of the day, an overdoing, over-thinking, overacting, can all result from this placement. It may be that you need to learn a new language fast and feel as if your life depends on it, which may be the case; or you are invited to give a talk on your latest ideas – tomorrow, without being able to plan for the best results. Feeling under pressure is the key here, until you learn how to handle it.

Look back to 2001 and before that part of 1988-89 for how previous Jupiter transits in Gemini have worked for you. What were you thinking, doing and with whom? See if this year resonates with those times and become your own research programme.

Although Venus is also in early Gemini, she very saucily skips out of Jupiter’s way and doesn’t meet up with him at all. And that’s how Gemini can be – quick footed, agile and clever. After all, why would she want her more ephemeral values challenged by the master of broad and meaningful thinking?
