Recession – What Recession?

This is NOT about loss of money, folks, it just seems like it. In reality, it’s about changing our ATTITUDE – individually – to living in the real world, connected with everything in it – fish, fowl, flowers and you and me. And every time we are pressured into attitude shifts by the Universal energies, whatever we hold as our over-riding value, will be challenged and reworked, by hook or by crook.

And we’re bang in the middle of one of those Universal pressures right now – just as we were in the mid-Sixties, the early Thirties, the 1890’s (with Freud’s work), and many more examples, right back to the Axial Age, when Buddhism,  Hinduism, Judaism were all born around the same time.

And here we go again, everywhere we turn we are being bombarded by the various news media – TV, newspapers, radio, etc – that we are now on the verge of a recession and things can only get worse. And for many people, this will be true – but why? Because they believe it – and why do they believe it? Because they/we are being told that it is so, and we always believe what we are told by the media, don’t we?

Or do we? Mike Dooley, one of the teachers on “The Secret” DVD states quite baldly that “Thoughts become things.” In other words, if we believe something is true, then it will manifest in our lives as a reality. This is an extremely powerful message and one that we should all take to heart – and start taking the rest of his statement to heart as well, which is: “Better choose the good ones.”

Therefore, suggests Mike, if we believe in the bad news, we will be at the effect of our belief in the bad news – if we believe in good news, then good things will manifest for us. Simple and straightforward Law of Attraction in action.

In previous blog posts, I have written about the coming financial difficulties that the world is likely to experience – and in fact, with my Astrologer’s hat on, I can see that this situation will continue until at least 2011.

However – and here’s the thing!! – it is not inevitable that everyone will go down the pan with the banks and the various financial institutions during this period – or even lose all their money, their homes or creditworthiness.

What is inevitable is that we, particularly in the so-called First World, will go through a major shift in attitude towards money, power, and world connectedness. And that major shift will always involve finances, because we value ourselves by the amount of money and status we have – in fact, money is status.

Isn’t it interesting that we were woken up to the importance of the Law of Attraction on a mass scale just months before we hit this particular economic downturn? Our collective eyes have been opened to the fact that, just like gravity is a reality, so is the Law of Attraction. We have been given the means of our own salvation from the worst effects of what’s happening in the world right now.

So, although there are huge shifts going on in our culture, we are also witnessing how our basic belief Money = Power is now being called into question, in order that we can change how we function as human beings on an interconnected planet. So we can shift from having to being.

Money will no longer be the issue or the currency – and yes, of course, we will have as much as we need, if that’s what we want to attract – and who wouldn’t want that? But once we face the fact that our world was plummeting out of control due to our greed – and take responsibility for it – then we can change our attitudes and start attracting good things for the whole world, not just the privileged few.

It is no accident that the American people en masse voted for a new President whom they believe can help them through this next phase of their development – they were ready for change. And it would be churlish not to admit that Barack Obama will have a profound effect on the rest of the world, too.

The citizens of the US attracted Obama, and then put that Attraction into Action by standing in line, for hours in some States, for the opportunity to vote him into power. It is 44 years since a Democratic candidate has attracted 51% of the votes – he’s also the 44th President – funny that!

So, change is coming – and if we can step back from the fear and begin to attract good things for ourselves and those around us, then we can effectively change the world. Good things like enough nourishment, clean water and the opportunity to express our love and creativity – now that calls for a real cultural shift – and it’s waiting for us all to attract it into being.
