Happy Birthday Aquarius for 2009

There’s a lot going on for you this year, Aquarius: the entry of Jupiter, bringer of Joy, in your sign a couple of weeks ago can be a real confidence booster that will go a long way to alleviating some of the anxiety that Neptune has been stirring up over the last decade. Now obviously Neptune hasn’t been sitting still during this period – it has a 15 year stay in whichever sign it visits – so as it moves steadily  onwards, the following 5 year period will be for those whose birthdays are at the end of Aquarius – 12th-19th February.

The effects of Neptune can be confusing. However, for those more artistic creative, imaginative or mystical types it can open you up to visionary and intense spiritual experiences. Some people feel the quality of Love (with a capital ‘L’) flowing through your entire lives and can often make changes in your lifestyle and world view that will inform the way you approach reality and live your life forever. The confusion comes if you are identified with life being in a certain solid and unchanging way – when life becomes pliable and foggy life it can become uncomfortable until you widen your horizons to include all the new insights that are flowing in.

Jupiter doesn’t really make things happen, what it does though is to inject positivity into your psyche – and as those of you who are students of the Law of Attraction already know – a positive psyche attracts positive and life affirming experiences. So get ready for a real boost of expansive feelings – and as Jupiter is in your sign for 12 months – how good is that?

Aquarius is interesting in that it is ruled by two distinctly different planets. Traditionally, Saturn is your ruling planet, however, it is suggested that since the late 18th Century, Uranus has taken over the rulership. I don’t have a problem with that – but I do think that the two can mix it up a bit and give you that most interesting quality that combines inventiveness and a sideways take on life. This expresses as a solid interest in wanting the best for humanity, but once you find what you think is the answer you can become very authoritarian in working it through – democratic in attitude, autocratic in method.

The point of telling you this is because both these two planets – these great heavy Titans – are doing a slow face-off across the Zodiac and wreaking havoc on our organisations and political institutions. This is having a world wide effect – and will continue to do so through to the end of 2010 – so there are more changes in the air for all of us – mainly in the area of ground breaking achievements and technologies.

For Aquarians, the Uranian end can bring about a kind of restlessness, while the Saturnian end slows it all down – a bit like a pressure cooker. It’s not unremitting pressure, though – over the next 8 weeks – then it moves off until September/October 2009 and then comes back in April /August 2010. It is a period of profound social change, lifestyle shift and financial firming up as the money houses on your solar chart are being tenanted by these two. However, you can personally experience your own groundbreaking events and genius through this time.

This month (January 09) Mercury has been retrograding through the early degrees of Aquarius – bringing lost messages, technical hitches and confused communications. happily it’s all over by 30th January. Yippee!! And then sit back and watch as all those “big” decisions made by the powers that be are rescinded. Even President Obama had to swear in twice – which is typical of Mercury retrograde!!!

At the beginning of March, Venus changes direction (for further information on retrograde planets, go to my Blog archives) and sits in your 3rd Solar house until mid-June. This can bring a period of very pleasurable communications – when harmony in all your social transactions can be harmonised. Love can be in the air for those who are romantically inclined, so can art, Venus’ other signification, for creative, poetic types.

This whole year is a highly charged creative period for you – my caveat is that you will need to keep your feet on the ground for the entire year. Find a good down-to-earth friend whose advice you value and pass your ideas in front of them before you act and follow their advice.
